In keeping with its mission and vision to empower student leaders in academic support, West Coast SI offers the opportunity for selected student paraprofessionals to deliver a 20-minute keynote speech at the Annual West Coast SI Conference.
Must be nominated by faculty, staff, or administration (e.g. course instructor, program Coordinator, department Director, etc.) who have worked directly with the respective individual in their role as a peer-led academic support paraprofessional*
- Nominees must be a current or recent peer-led academic support paraprofessional (within the past academic year).
- Nominees must have made a significant contribution to academic support within a higher education institution and/or have demonstrated significant personal and professional growth.
- Nominees must have demonstrated public communication skills requisite to the task of delivering a keynote speech.
*The West Coast SI Conference does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or marital status.
Nominees will receive an invitation to submit initial application materials (required for consideration). Upon review, a group of finalists will be invited to continue the selection process.
